StarForce product has been deeply tested by the new “DRM watch dogs” – Reclaim Your Game

StarForce's FrontLine ProActive has been analyzed in-depth by independent DRM Evaluators, Reclaim Your Game (RYG). There were two PC games with FrontLine ProActive implemented that were completely reviewed following the comprehensive testing scheme.

It was the protection version 5.70 that has been tested and reviewed. Two games came to RYG’s testers as they appeared in stores without any changes. The final test report has been divided into 8 items. Each of them describes certain protection features that may affect consumer’s PC or cause a negative experience while game is launching and played.

Lisa Arnold, General Manager of Reclaim Your Game comment: “After much testing, analysis and discussion, RYG has concluded that FrontLine ProActive is by far a significantly attractive DRM Scheme, especially with respect to what StarForce had used back in 2006. Six out of the eight characteristics and qualities RYG tested on FrontLine ProActive using Project RYG were deemed to be End-User Friendly. Not only that, but having to work with someone within StarForce who was equally passionate and dedicated in trying to develop an end-user friendly product is a testament to FrontLine ProActive itself.”

Here are the testing summary reports:

“Commander” game test results:

“Home, Sweet Home” game test results:

Detailed report can be found on the RYG’s web-site here.

Dmitry Guseff, VP of Marketing for StarForce, says: "We are very delighted with the testing results. However, we have some space to evolve and I can assure everyone that we definitely will evolve. The most toughest things are behind - StarForce has changed and now, I believe, moves in the right direction. We managed to rebuild our DRM to become more convenient, safe and, most importantly, transparent, which was pretty hard as we have managed to keep the protection-performance on a very high level."

StarForce FrontLine MMOG has been entirely localized to Korean language

On the 18th of January 2009 FrontLine MMOG product intended for protection of MMO games against bots, cheating and hacking has been completely localized to Korean language.

While exhibiting in the biggest Korean games exhibition G-Star 2009 StarForce’s representatives noted enormous interest of Korean game developers towards the newest company’s product – FrontLine MMOG. This product aims at protection of massive multiplayer online games against dishonest methods of play like cheating and hacking.

Actualizing agreements that have been reached during the exhibition FrontLine MMOG has been fully localized to Korean language for its more comfortable utilization by Korean developers. Moreover, a special Korean support department has been established.

«Taking into consideration the fact that Korea is, say, Mecca of online games we made a decision to translate all the software and documents used for FL MMOG implementation to Korean language», - said Michael Kalinichenko, StarForce’s CEO, - «Korean developers use non-localized programs with reluctance, that is why localization of the whole product and documentation was the main condition to start full-scale work in this country. Making the decision we were also guided by the wishes if Western games companies that localized Korean games on their markets. Many of them wish to have FrontLine MMOG. But the fact that it is need to have access to game’s source code for FL MMOG implementation was the certain barrier».

During several business meetings Korean game developers declared that they really are looking for any feasible opportunity to try new StarForce’s FrontLine MMOG solution, which endeavors against hacks, cheats and bots, which are the major threats to online gaming worldwide. The key idea was that existing solutions are zero effective. All titles that have been protected by StarForce’s competitors now have several working bots and hacks. Furthermore, competitors’ solutions are low compatible from consumer’s perceptive as they bring various problems with protected game launch and incorrect malware programs detection.

In addition, StarForce’s representatives met several big European publishers who entrenched Korean colleagues’ words and stated they will implement FrontLine MMOG in their forthcoming titles.

The dispersion to the worldwide MMOG scene will carry on in mid December with marketing and technical materials along with additional software and technical support entirely localized into Korean language.
